Hello, Night (Story)

Hello, Night (Story)
HELLO, NIGHT

Enchanted night when people asleep are able to fly, while long shadows reaching for more than they can hold meet others in the way.

Silence, heard by sight, floats over the land, softly nodding greeting, ”Hello, Night, hello, hello, hello.”

“Hello, hello, hello,” responds reflected light of the moon, the echo of day.

Awakens Quiet, to discourse upon nocturnal repose, and so greets Endless Sky, “Hello, hello, hello. Hello Moon; Hello, Silence. Old friends, hello, hello, hello.”

Moving over resting land, arm-in-arm, friends of the clime leave the heat of day to admire scenes painted through the sky.

Soon the hinge of time, whence Day’s rays begin to show, and where people no longer can fly, force all but self away.

The chart of Memory alone remains of a time when we were able to fly.
